Directory: 6,436 cities and populated places across 248 country/territory entries; 419 location-linked IANA identifiers including UTC. GeoNames (CC BY 4.0), with IANA zone-only entries for areas without listed cities. Time rules: IANA 2026e via Moment Timezone. No paid API, location permission or saved comparison history. Current clocks depend on your device clock; future rules can change.

When this tool is useful

Compare live local dates and clocks, convert an appointment between cities, and find practical international meeting slots. Countries such as the United States, Australia and Russia have several time zones, so choosing a city is more precise than choosing a country alone.

A practical example

On 15 January 2026, 09:00 in London is 14:45 in Kathmandu. On 15 July 2026, 09:00 in London is 13:45 in Kathmandu because London's summer offset changes. For a meeting, add each participant's city, choose the source date and compare the suggested local start and end times.

What to keep in mind

Current clocks use your device clock. Conversions use the bundled IANA database, not fixed offsets; governments may announce changes after its release. Very old historical rules can be incomplete. Meeting suggestions use the same chosen work hours in each location and Monday–Friday, without checking holidays or individual schedules. Directory counts are location entries, not claims to list every settlement or all politically defined territories.

Common questions

How are daylight-saving changes handled?

The selected date determines each zone's offset. A skipped spring-forward time shows an error. A repeated autumn time offers both occurrences with their UTC offsets.

Are half-hour and 45-minute time zones supported?

Yes. IANA rules include locations such as Kolkata, Kathmandu, Adelaide and the Chatham Islands; offsets are calculated for the actual instant.

Why does the destination show a different date?

Crossing midnight or the international date line can move the local calendar forward or backward. Always check the full weekday and date, not just the hour.

Does the meeting planner guarantee everyone is available?

No. It ranks half-hour starting slots by how many selected locations fit within the chosen weekday work hours for the entire meeting duration. Confirm participants' availability and holidays yourself.

Are my cities or meeting times uploaded?

No. Searching this directory and calculating clocks happen in your browser. Comparison choices are not saved after you leave the page.
